BLOG 43 KNOW YOUR ENEMY

BLOG 43 KNOW YOUR ENEMY

A good soldier knows he has an enemy and is aware of how he operates. We are not ignorant of the enemy’s devices. Paul tells us to endure hardness, as a good soldier of Jesus Christ in 2 Timothy 2:3. God’s children are in a battle against evil. It is a spiritual battle. We are to war a good warfare by the word of God and by praying in the Holy Ghost. We can walk in victory because of what Jesus accomplished on the cross. He is our victory.
Paul had a thorn in his flesh given to him by satan and God told him that His grace was sufficient. Satan was trying to stop Paul from preaching the gospel and reaching people with the good news. Paul was preaching a simple message that could be understood. God had given Paul such a deep understanding and insight into the truth. This is why Paul was able to write most of the new testament in the Bible. He had a wonderful revelation of God’s love and grace.
A mature Christian will be able to discern good and evil. God’s desire for his children is to know his enemy and just how he functions. In our case, the god of this world, satan, is our enemy. You need to know that he can work through those who are closest to you. (even your husband or wife) This is usually who he works through to get to us. Most often the person he is using against you is unaware that he is being used.
God has given us authority in the earth to break the power of satan over our loved ones. See Luke 10:19. This is possible because Jesus has already defeated satan on the cross and put him to open shame. Colossians 2:15 This is why satan only has deception and lies to use against believers. Be aware that he comes to a person’s mind to steal, to kill, and to destroy. He loves human misery?
We are more than conquerors in Him because He loves us and we are world over-comers because we are born of God. Romans 8:37, 1John 5:4 If you are born again by the Spirit of God, you are an over-comer.
We were given dominion early on in Genesis 1:28. If we don’t dominate evil in the earth, it will dominate us! Our enemy will make sure of that. We overcome him (satan) by the blood of the Lamb and the word of our testimony. Revelation 12:11 We testify of what Jesus has done for us. Our faith is in the cross of Calvary.
We as God’s dear children are blessed beyond measure. We are to overcome evil with good. Romans 12:21 Jesus tells us, if someone slaps you on the cheek, turn the other cheek to him. If you are asked to walk one mile, walk two miles. All this seems backward to the world, but this is the Lord’s way. This is how we over-come evil. It all has been done for us. All we have to do is to walk in love by the power of the Holy Ghost in faith.
It is yielding to God’s ways and to His will (which is His Word) and always walking in love that keeps our enemy at bay. If we are dead to self and hid in Christ, we can do this because it is done by the power of the Holy Spirit, who lives in the born again believer. Colossians 3:3,4, Galatians 5:22 &23 Our enemy will have nothing against us and nothing to accuse us of.
He does use other believers to accuse the brethren by putting negative thoughts in their minds and enticing them to speak out loud these thoughts. First comes the thoughts, then what follows is the action. In 2 Corinthians 10: 3, 4, & 5, “For though we walk in the flesh, we do not war after the flesh. For the weapons of our warfare are not carnal, but mighty through God to the pulling down of strong holds; casting down imaginations, and every high thing that exalts itself against the knowledge of God, and bringing into captivity every thought to the obedience of Christ.”
What is needed is for believers to be in agreement with God and call things that be not as though they are. Romans 4:17 If your Heavenly Father shows you some situation about another believer, He means for you to pray for that person; that’s it! Gossip is not prayer! If you are faithful to pray as Holy Spirit leads, God will trust you to help others with prayer. Prayer is the central part of spiritual warfare if it is composed of the Word . Also decreeing the word over our loved ones is a priority. See Job 22: 28. “Thou shall also decree a thing, and it shall be established unto thee; and the light shall shine upon thy ways.” “No weapon that is formed against thee shall prosper; and every tongue that shall rise against thee in judgement thou shall condemn. This is the heritage of the servants of the Lord, and their righteousness is of Me, says the Lord.” Isaiah 54: 17 Pray the Word; you can’t go wrong that way.
We have on the full armor of God. The helmet of salvation, the breastplate of righteousness, the shield of faith, the sword of the spirit ( which is the word of God), our loins are girded with the truth, and our feet are shod with the preparation of the Gospel of peace. Ephesians 6:11-17 The scripture says to be strong in the Lord, and in the power of His might. Ephesians 6:10 “Put on the whole armor of God, that you may be able to stand against the wiles of the devil.” If you are born again, you already have on the full armour of God. The helmet comes on the believer at the time of the experience of salvation and we are fully equipped with all the armor of God at that time.
Jesus is serious when he tells us in Matthew 12: 37, “For by thy words thou shall be justified, and by thy words thou shall be condemned. The words that we speak are very significant. ….”For out of the abundance of the heart the mouth speaks.” Matthew 12:34
We are told about the power of the tongue in the book of James. “If any man offend not in word, the same is a perfect man, and able also to bridle the whole body.” James 3: 5, “Even so the tongue is a little member, and boasts great things. Behold, how great a matter a little fire kindles.” Verse 6, “And the tongue is a fire, a world of iniquity; so is the tongue among our members, that it defiles the whole body, and sets on fire the course of nature; and it is set on fire of hell.” In verse 7, we are told that every kind of beast has been tamed. “But the tongue can no man tame; it is an unruly evil, full of deadly poison.” Now we see why we will be condemned for what we speak. Words are very powerful because our God created the world by the words of His mouth. He is the Creator; satan is the destroyer. He uses the negative, condemning words that comes out of the mouth to destroy.
Jesus gave us the keys to the kingdom of heaven in Matthew 16:19 and in Matthew 18: 18. Binding and loosening are the keys and the word bind means to forbid. Whatever we forbid on earth, it will be forbidden in heaven. The same for loosening. These keys are very powerful and very effective. In Matthew 18:19 & 20, Jesus tells us as believers about the power of agreement in prayer. Please read these scriptures. He says that He is in our midst when 2 or 3 are gathered in agreement.
We have been told by people who really do not know the seriousness of the words that are spoken: “Oh what you don’t know, won’t hurt you.” God says that my people are destroyed for lack of knowledge. We are to submit to God; resist the devil and he will flee from you. Christians quote only the second part of that verse and miss the significance of “submit to God”. When you submit to God, you are submitting to His word. What you don’t know will very well allow your enemy to steal, to kill, and to destroy you. We need to know things for ourselves that come to our hearts by Holy Spirit. It is not safe, nor wise to put your life into the hands of someone else. The only capable and trusting hands that we put our lives into are the hands of the Lord Jesus Christ. He is the One who defeated our enemy, satan, at the cross and also when He was tempted in the wilderness, He said, “It is written.” We speak the Lord’s word because He is the living word. This is our warfare!
Satan wants to steal the word from believers because this is the source of victory. I don’t believe that he cares about us; he only wants to steal the Word from God’s children. The Word is where the power of God exists. He upholds everything by the Word of His power. Hebrews 1:3
By reading, studying, and praying, the scriptures, we grow in the valuable knowledge that our Heavenly Father intends for us to possess. The word of God is alive and it is supernatural. See Hebrews 4:12 in the Amplified Bible. “For the Word that God speaks is alive and full of power (making it active, operative, energizing, and effective); it is sharper than any two edged-sword, penetrating to the dividing line of the breath of life (soul) and (the immortal) spirit, and of joints and marrow (of the deepest parts of our nature), exposing and sifting and analyzing and judging the very thought and purposes of the heart.” There is not a creature that exists that is concealed from His sight, but all things are open and exposed, naked and defenseless to the eyes of Him with Whom we have to do. (verse 13)
To be effective in God’s kingdom, we must know who the real enemy is and we must know how he operates, and we must speak God’s word against him. As God’s dear children, we imitate our beloved Lord Jesus.
This is faith cabin saying you are blessed. Love and smiles ’til next time.
