BLOG 3 8 DIRECTIONS FOR LIFE

Turn right and go straight!
Turn right and go straight!  Jesus is waiting for you and He will help you to do this.  These are good directions because they come from our Heavenly Father.  He shows us the right path: the narrow road.
The Bible says the road that leads to distruction is broad, but the road that leads to life is narrow. Matthew 7: 13,14 (my paraphase)  Many are traveling on the broad road unaware.  They are too busy to pay attention to the Word of God.  They must surrender and submit their lives to the Lord Jesus Christ.  This is the right way.  You know, if you make a wrong turn, you don’t keep going in the wrong direction.  You must stop, turn around and go in the right direction.  This is called REPENT!  You change your mind, turn around and go in the opposite direction.  When you realize you are traveling on the wrong path, Messiah will help you if you will call out to Him.  The way to see the correct path is by meditating on God’s word.  Thy word is a lamp unto my feet, and a light unto my path. Psalms 119:105   If you keep your mind stayed on Him, He will keep you in perfect peace.  Isaiah 26:3  Trust in the Lord with all your heart; and lean not on your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge Him,  and He shall direct your paths.  Proverb 3:5 & 6
When a person is going in the right direction, the narrow, straight road; he feels better about his life.  It is so much better traveling with good against evil.  Doing what is right because it is right.  Holy Spirit is our helper and God has given us a conscience as our compass.  If we allow our conscience to lead us, we will stay on that narrow path that leads to life.  If we aren’t true to ourselves, our conscience can become seared.  When a conscience is seared, it is hard to tell right from wrong.  Once a person has chosen the wrong path repeatedly, over time, he loses his way.  When he chooses the path of least resistance, it is the wrong path.  This is why our Heavenly Father has blessed us with the guidance of Holy Spirit.  Although, He is there to lead and guide the children that belong to God, He will not go against their will.  Holy Spirit does not drive God’s people, He gently leads them.  If a person is driven, they are being driven by the god of this world.
Do you remember the story in Genesis about Noah building the Ark?  Noah was a preacher of rightessness.  As, he was working on the very large boat, people were scoffing in unbelief.  It had never rained!   They were busy with their lives; too busy to listen to Noah.  This is how it is now in our day.  God is saying “Turn right and go straight.”  He is right there to help you to do this.  You can’t do it alone no matter how much you think you can.  We all need a Savior.  This is why Jesus came to earth and died on a cross.  He came to save mankind.  He was sinless, but He took our sins upon His body so we wouldn’t have to die.  You could think that one would die for a good person, but would one die for a sinner?   Well, yes, that is exactly what Jesus did.  We are born with sin and must be born again from above by the Spirit of God.  We must come to the end of ourselves.
Think about this.  The Son of God was sinless.  The Bible says He was the spotless, sinless, lamb of God.  In the old testament, animals were sacrificed to take away sins for one year, but it had to be redone every year.  Jesus took our penalty.  His flesh was hanging off His back because He was beaten so much.  Forty stripes, less one, the Bible says.  He wasn’t reconizable as a human being. As humans, we are guilty before our born again experience; He was innocent.  His blood had to be shed.  There is no remission of sin without the shedding of blood.  Hebrews 9:22   You are probably thinking, well He was the Son of God that is why He could do such a thing!   No, the Bible says He was tempted on all points and experienced everything as a man, but He was without sin. Hebrews 4:15   He was all God and all man, but did everything as a man to show us what could be done.
Jesus was humble.  He humbled Himself to become a man.  He was in heaven with God.  Read this in John 1:1.  “In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God.” When Jesus died on the cross, God His Father, had to forsake Him because of the sins that were put on Him.
Jesus took on a human, fleshly, body although He was God.  This is the creator who humbled Himself to become a man in flesh.  Colossians 1:16,17 says, “For by Him were all things created, that are in heaven, and that are in earth, visible, and invisible, whether they be thrones, or dominions, or powers; all things were created by Him, and for Him.” “And He is before all things, and by Him all things consist.”   Also in Colossians 1:20, “And having made peace through the blood of His cross, by Him to reconcile all things unto Himself”…….
Mankinds’ greatest need is to know what he really needs.  He needs God’s love and forgiveness.  Jesus gave us this on the cross.
The sin of pride is what keeps someone from believing on and receiving the Lord Jesus as his Savior.  When a person obeys sin, he is ruled by that sin.  In Romans 6:16.  “Know you not, that to whom you yield yourselves servants to obey, his servants you are to whom you obey; whether of sin unto death, or of obedience unto righteouness.”
I want to remind you about your enemy, satan, who was in pride and was put out of heaven.  He thought he could exalt himself above God!  Because of this, pride is what he tries to use on mankind.
“For the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord.”  Romans 6:23
Relying on your own righteousness is self-righteousness.  Humble yourselves like Jesus did for us.  Lowliness of mind is humility.  “Let this mind be in you, which was also in Christ Jesus.” Philippians 2:5,7,8  “But made Himself of no reputation, and took upon Him the form of a servant, and was made in the likeness of men.”  “And being found in fashion as a man, He humbled Himself, and became obedient unto death, even the death of the cross.”
“Wherefore God also has highly exalted Him, and given Him a name that is above every name; that at the name of Jesus every knee should bow and every tongue should confess that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father.” Philippians 2: 9,10,11
He who humbles himself shall be exalted.  See Luke 18:14
We must turn right and go straight to find the truth.  Jesus is the way, the truth, and the life. John 14:6

This is Faith Cabin saying bye for now.  Be blessed, love and smiles.
