Blog 15 Why Things go Wrong

Why are things going wrong?  Why is there so much trouble in the world?  Why is there pain and suffering?  Why is there death?  Many in the past, and now in the present, try to answer these questions.  None seem to get it right.
The truth is this:  There is a great war going on between good and evil.  This war of right and wrong began with the fall of the man, Adam, when he and Eve ate of the tree of the knowledge of good and evil.
It all started in heaven, when iniquity was found in Satan.  Satan said in his heart, “I will exalt my throne above the stars of God, and I will be like the most High.”  He desired to exalt himself above God, and to be worshipped.  He persuaded one third of the angelic host to rebel against God with him.(Isaiah 14:13 &14)  They were all cast out of heaven to the earth.  In Revelations 12:7–9, we read, “And there was a war in heaven; Michael and his angels fought against the dragon; and the dragon fought and his angels, and prevailed not; neither was their place found anymore in heaven.  And the great dragon was cast out, that old serpent, called the Devil, and Satan, which deceives the whole world; he was cast out into the earth, and his angels were cast out with him.”
It is in this way that the forces of evil came to earth.  They have been working down through the ages ever since.
Satan and his demons (the fallen angels) are after the hearts and minds of mankind.
This is what the battle is all about.  Satan’s plan is to bring man from God and to himself.
We should remember that Jesus defeated Satan at the cross, and restored all things back to us.   In Luke 10:19, Jesus says (written in Jesus’ words in red in my Bible) “Behold I give you power to tread on serpents and scorpions, and over all the power of the enemy; and nothing shall by any means hurt you.”  The Bible does say not to brag about having power over the demons; but to rejoice that our names are written in  the Lamb’s book of life.    We are world overcomers in Christ. (1John 5:4)
Now, good is being called evil, and evil, good.
But, I want to encourage you, if you have believed on the Lord Jesus Christ, and have asked Him to save you; you have the victory.
All the devil has to use is lies and deception.  And of coures, the only place he can bring those lies and deception to, is a person’s mind through thoughts and imaginations.  We must know God’s word, and be able to discern good and evil.  Satan does not know truth any more, only facts.  Facts are subject to change; but truth never changes.  He is out to deceive, so he can steal, kill, and destroy.
As the world grows darker, the Church (God’s chosen) will grow brighter and lighter.  The dark can not over shadow the light.  Lighr disspells the darkness, and God is light.
We are to reach one person at the time with the truth of the gospel.  For the Son of man came to seek and to save that which was lost, and to destroy the works of Devil. (Luke 19:10, & 1John 3:8)
This is how we overcome the evil that is in the world.  We love people enough to speak the truth to them.   And God’s love has been shed abroad in our hearts by the Holy Ghost. (Romans 5:5)
People know when they are sinning; they don’t have to be told.  It is the love of God that draws men to repentance. The Bible says ……”The goodness of God leads thee to repentance.” (Romans 2:4)
We are supposed to overcome evil with good.  We are to love our enemies.  We don’t repay evil with evil.  We repay with good.  This is what will change people’s hearts.  By telling them the truth, and loving them unconditionally——-loving them——-not what they do, will give them the desire to change. God loves people and He is so grieved when one person goes to hell.
So we see, bad things happen because of sin.  Sin is not just the big things that some have done like murder, or say theft.  Sin is also unbelief (unbelief in God), fear, anger, dissatisfaction, and hatred.  The things that come out of the heart of man is what defiles him.
My friend, please know that Satan has no real power; only the power that one gives to him.  He has been stripped of his power at the cross.  The Bible says, the Devil goes about like a roaring lion seeking whom he may devour.  He has a big, empty, mouth, with no teeth; he makes a lot of noise!!
We overcome him (Satan) by the blood of the lamb, and by the word of our testimony.( Revelation 12:11)
The real power is in the word of God.  This is what was used against the Devil, when after Jesus had fasted for forty days, and was tempted by Satan to turn the stones to bread, and eat.  Jesus replied, “Man shall not live by bread alone, but by every word that preceeds out of the mouth of God.” (Matthew 4:4)
In Isaiah 14:16, it says, …….”Is this the man that made the earth to tremble, that did shake kingdoms”?
This means that the Devil is very puny, and has no real power, only lies and deception, that he tries to use on everyone.
